Time to Panic – Illamasqua Pastels now up on Sephora!

I’ve been VERY careful w/ my purchases of Illamasqua nail polishes.  I snap up a whole collection  of OPI’s at a time (at retail prices at that) without blinking and yet a handful of $14 polishes just don’t make my heart beat that much.   But I DO plan to own most of the Illamasqua varnish colors in due time…slowly.

So now Sephora is pressuring me to add more colors to my current Illamasqua line up (which includes Rampage, Phallic, Muse, Fern, Milf, and Grab) by adding the new pastels for sale!  Check them out here.  That mint green!  Those creams that I love!  With fab formulas, I heard!  Oh my!

I’ve got to stop myself.  At least there’s no “LIMITED EDITION” note on the side of the new pastels to make me panic now.  Last time I panicked in a Sephora store, I ended up returning 5 polishes and making the Sephora clerks happy (because I returned them to a different store – a branch that didn’t have Illamasqua so they squealed with joy when they saw my loot) – just because I had a change of heart.

PATIENCE.  Sometimes you have to deal with addictions like this.

I will panic though if they add Hectic to the Sephora line up!  Ordering from the UK website is just too damn expensive!

Shrek Forever After Fever

In anticipation of the release of the latest installment of the adorable Shrek series, alongside the adorable OPI nail polish collection of 6 colors that comes with it, I am posting this trailer of the movie.

Can’t wait to wear 3D glasses again for this one!  And I can’t wait to wear these bright colors on my tips! :)

American Idol Musings from BB&B

I don’t really watch a lot of TV but I do watch a couple of shows from time to time.  American Idol is one of those things that I like watching though I don’t get to follow it religiously.

For the past 9 seasons, AI has been a stellar show of very very good singers.  My faves from past contestants are Elliot Yamin (such a sweetheart), Carrie Underwood, and Chris Daughtry.  I was totally out of the loop during the seasons that David Cook and Jordin Sparks won.

I’m trying to make up for lost time now though and watching Season 9 has been a mostly pleasant experience.  Though I frown upon the seemingly diminishing credibility of the mentors week on week (hello, Adam Lambert?  Miley Cyrus?!), I am seeing some great talent in this season’s top hopefuls.  Let me share some of my faves.

A lot of people are saying that this season’s finale is going to be a face-off between Siobhan Magnus:

And Crystal Bowersox:

After Katie Stevens was eliminated, Siobhan and Crystal are now the only remaining ladies in the competition.  I would have to agree with everyone who thinks that these two are the ones to beat – having churned out some of the most memorable performances ever.  I particularly loved Siobhan’s dramatic performance of Paint it Black from the Rolling Stones week (and look at that get up!  Fab!):

I am more in love with Crystal though.  Aside from the fact that she is so talented, she comes across to me as uber cool and authentic.  Check out my favorite performance of hers to date, a rendition of Janis Joplin’s Me and Bobby McGee.

There is a lone male though who is being touted as the “dark horse” in the competition – Lee Dewyze.  Check Lee performing the classic Elvis song A Little Less Conversation this week, which I absolutely fell in love with:

And come on, who wouldn’t fall in love with this face?!?!?!?!

If female voters get it their way, Lee (or Casey, the other hunk left in the contest – though of course I left him out of this post since he wasn’t my type!  Haha!) may just find himself in the finale!
