NYX Girls Polish Swatches
May 30, 2010 2 Comments
Since Cherry Culture is having their Memorial Day Sale till Monday, I opted to post swatches of the new NYX Girls polishes that I initially wanted to redo but never got around to doing again.
Individual in-depth reviews of the polishes to follow. Let me tell you that everything I’ve tried from this line so far has been nothing short of fantastic formula-wise. The brush is easy to control, albeit seems shorter because of the cap, as illustrated in the quick photo I took below:

L-R: Orly brush, NYX Girls brush, OPI Prowide brush
As you can see, the brush of the NYX Girls polishes is slightly shorter than both Orly’s and OPI’s. It is slightly fuller than the Orly brush though, and both actually allow a lot of control especially for those with narrow nail beds. It is obviously narrower than the OPI Prowide though, but I don’t think those with wide nail beds will have a problem.
Here are the colors I have. I’m definitely going to haul more. These polishes exceeded my expectations for sure. For $3, not bad!

NYX Girls Moonwalk
Moonwalk. A pretty silver with a tinge of lilac. Very in with the metallic nail trend. Perfect coverage and pretty color.

NYX Girls Boho
Boho. Another foil type finish but not the usual hue of green that is made into a foil. It has this sort of grass/mint thing going on. Definitely unique and one of my fave greens ever.

NYX Girls Complex Purple
Complex Purple. A bright purple that is not neon with silver shimmer throughout. Very unique in spite of all the purples out there today.

NYX Girls Dark Gray
Dark Gray. Reminds me of concrete. Perfect gray creme, reminds me of RBL Stormy. Need to do a comparison.

NYX Girls Fig
Fig. True to the name, dark purple with a charcoal feel to it. Purples, especially darker shades, are notoriously difficult to photograph so I would have to take another shot at this swatch soon.

NYX Girls Robotic
Robotic. Blue micro glitter in black base that still looks blue unlike other similar colors. Not too dark, very glowy.

NYX Girls Chocolate Taupe
Chocolate Taupe. Such a straightforward name for this yummy beige taupe polish ala OPI You Don’t Know Jacques. A lower priced alternative. Perfect taupe creme.
There’s another one that I didn’t post – Royal Purple – because it was so tough to get a color accurate photo. But just to let you know, it’s very similar to other deep purples with multi colored micro glitters.
Hope this helps you make your choices! Would definitely share swatches again when I haul more NYX Girls polishes.
