Models Own Nude Beige

To kick off my week of Models Own, I decided to start with basics.  Here’s a pretty basic that became an instant fave of mine: Nude Beige.

Models Own Nude Beige

On to my review as usual (for more info on my rating system, go here).

Formula: Perfect. I love the Models Own formula.  No problems.

Opacity: Standard two-coater.

Removal: As is expected of trusty beiges and nudes, this one was a breeze to remove.

Models Own Nude Beige

Color: Perfect beige creme that goes very well with my coloring as you can see in the photo above (and no, my hands are not that dark! It’s the lighting.)  For reference, I wear MAC NC20 to NC40 foundation – my skin tone tends to change a lot with all the travel.  I definitely see myself wearing Nude Beige pretty often especially when I’m going to be in a conservative environment or want to play it safe.

Rating:

Extra! Extra!: I have a thing for basics with a twist.  I like colors that are work appropriate (for conservative offices) and yet edgy at the same time.  Nude Beige is a perfect example of this kind of color.  I wouldn’t worry about my mom (who tends to prefers whites and beiges on her nails when she does get her nails done every once in a while) making some comments about my over the top mani color when wearing this.  I won’t be yawning with boredom when I have Nude Beige on my tips, either.  Good compromise!

Rating:

For those who are not into “outrageous” hues of nail color yet, this is something you have to try.  For those whose bosses frown on eccentric accessories (nail color included), this color won’t put your job in jeopardy.

Basic.  Dependable.  Good formula.

A Week of Models Own!

I’ve been incredibly busy lately, but managed to squeeze in posting some of my Models Own polish swatches.

If you haven’t heard of Models Own, you’re missing out.  This is an awesome cosmetic line from the UK the boasts of outrageous and unique colors for the nails, lips, and eyes.  Though I won’t be reviewing any of their cosmetics (since I’m a reformed makeup addict), I will be reviewing their nail polishes extensively in the next week.  Stay tuned!

I’m sorry for posting these late.  They had a potentially great deal coming with England’s participation in the World Cup (for 25% off every time England wins).  But since the devastating defeat by Germany earlier today, the English football team is headed home and that means no World Cup codes for us. :(

Oh well, might as well help boost UK e-commerce by promoting Models Own!  They’re fantastic really – but I’m getting ahead of myself.

Here’s some teaser photos.

The package that arrived:

I was pleasantly surprised to receive sophisticated looking black boxes from the post office.  Each box housed 10 polishes with classy purple paper to serve as cushion, and polishes bubble wrapped really well.  This is the prettiest package I’ve ever received, I have to say!  I actually ordered 2 boxes worth of polish, but I only got to take a pic of one box, sorry.

And on to some bottle pictures…

…Models Own can satisfy your need for basic mani colors…

…they have quite an array of grays (all cremes) in different hues for those who prefer colors that are safe with a twist…

…and will definitely win any purple lover’s hear with their array of purples…

…and blues…

…and definitely not for the faint of heart – they have kick ass green polishes to satisfy green lovers like me…

…and SHOCKING oranges too!

I’m missing a 1 or 2 bottles, but hope this brightens up your day!  Swatches soon.
