62nd Primetime Emmy Awards Fashion and Nail Looks

I love watching awards shows just to ogle at the dresses, accessories, and of course, nail looks on celebrities.  Most red carpet aficionados would be engrossed with knowing who designed the dress/shoes.  Some will wonder about the jeweler behind those glitzy jewels adorning the necks, wrists, and ears of all these stars (and the price tag that comes with them!).

I like knowing and reading about information on these things but lately I’ve been more conscious of the nail looks that go with these fashion choices.

Here’s a sneak peek on some of the less conventional (not nude/sheer) nail looks on the Emmy red carpet this year.  I will write a more comprehensive post soon.  Meanwhile, let me show you some teaser pictures and try to match the fingers to the face (and dress). :)

Any fave nail look so far?

Dance Could Move Mountains…

…and hearts.  Take a look at this breathtaking routine by Sonya Tayeh, danced wonderfully by Alex Wong (a ballet dancer) and Allison Holker (a jazz/contemporary dancer) for the show So You Think You Can Dance.

Salvation is such an abstract concept and yet this routine somehow made it concrete and tangible with those beautiful movements.

One of the best I’ve seen.  I’m definitely rooting for Alex to win this year.  SYTYCD has me hooked!  It has turned a girl with two left feet like me into a believer.  I couldn’t stop watching.

Wanna See Something Awesome?

Sorry for the lack of posts.  I’m quite busy with other things that I haven’t gotten around organizing photos and taking new pics.

Just want to post something random for today.  I’ve been really enjoying watching old episodes of the dance reality show So You Think You Can Dance.  I have two left feet and the the choreography and dancing in this show leaves me drooling – they are nothing short of PHENOMENAL.

This is a video of the Emmy-nominated routine.  It was performed by the runner up and top female dancer of SYTYCD Season 4, Twitch, and Katee, choreographed by the legendary Mia Michaels to the tune of the song Mercy.  This is just so unique and entertaining that even if you don’t watch the show, you should at least take a look.  I think it’s essentially about a guy who’s trying to get rid of a crazy ex-girlfriend.  Now how many people (both guys and girls) can relate to that?! :)

This performance also led the way for me to discover an awesome English artist I’ve never heard of before – Duffy.  I’m now downloading her entire discography.  Loving her funky voice and songs – so much personality!
