Essie Winter Collection 2010

Coming out of my self-imposed hiatus to bring you some exciting news about the Essie Winter collection.  I have bought the complete sets of the past Essie collections, and feel like I’m going to get the complete set for this one too.

Way to go Essie!  You’re luring me in since you named an otherwise boring polish Masquerade BELLE!

Did you see that new green?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

And the boxed set that looks so awesome.

Some color blocks to get us all giddy!

Definite must haves, just from bottle photos: Hot Coco, Going Incognito, Masquerade Belle (you now know why), and Smokin’ Hot.

Essie does vampy and greige colors best!  And when they release a green, it must be FAB! Can’t wait!

Essie The Addams Family – Morticia’s Nails Collection

This is not quite another Halloween collection like China Glaze Awakening or OPI Go Goth! which I posted about the past two days.  This is actually another (potentially) fabulous collaboration that Essie Cosmetics has done, this time with a non-profit group called The Actors Fund. Although we all know Morticia Addams from those Addams Family cartoons and movies, this collection is actually a tie-up with the Broadway version of the most well-known spooky family.  In fact, the brains behind this collection is Bebe Neuwirth, an Emmy- and Tony- award winning actress who plays Mrs. Addams on stage.

Did I mention how much I love Essie’s collaborations even more than OPI?  Anyway, on to the initial product photos:

L-R: Midnight Tango, Bone Chilling White, Blood Curdling Red

Straight from the brains behind this mini collection:

Every fashionable lady of the darkness will be drawn to Morticia’s Nails. Blood Curdling Red is certain to scare the crows away. Bone Chilling White will remind you that death is just around the corner. And Midnight Tango is all but certain to keep the passion alive.

Want to know why I’m possibly going to spend for this set?  Because 1) I like the idea of having an Addams Family-themed nail polish collection, 2) It will benefit a cause and last but definitely not the least 3) This set is limited edition – only 5,000 of these sets were produced.  You can get your own Morticia’s Nails set for $30 over at the websites of Essie and The Addams Family (The Musical) .

Essie Fall 2010 – Fall Into Fashion Collection

After their relatively subdued Summer Collection that brought an interesting green polish called Pretty Edgy, Essie slowly transitions to a deeper color palette as we head into autumn.

Essie Fall Into Fashion Collection 2010 is comprised of the usual set of six colors that debuted during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  Here are the color descriptions:

  • In Stitches – cheeky blush pink
  • Limited Addiction – racy garnet red
  • Sew Psyched – cashmere-soft sage pewter
  • Merino Cool – sensuous autumn mulberry
  • Velvet Yoyeur – intense chocolate amethyst
  • Little Brown Dress – beguiling black coffee

Here are some bottle pics to get things going:

Essie In Stitches

Essie Limited Addiction

Essie Little Brown Dress

Essie Velvet Voyeur

Essie Merino Cool

Essie Sew Psyched

Is it obvious which one I’m most excited about?  Anything green excites me, though I have to admit that the “pewter” in the color description got me a little worried.  I am looking forward to yet another incarnation of green polish, though I cringe at the polish name – after almost two decades of creating nail polish, I guess you would eventually reach a naming stump someday!

As with all past Essie collections, I think I would eventually change my mind about this collection once I see swatches.  But for now Sew Psyched is the only color that’s calling out to me.
