BB Couture for Nails Hands of Hope Collection for Haiti

If you haven’t heard about Haiti, you must be living under a rock.  A HUGE rock.

If you’re a polish-holic like me, head over to Overall Beauty and take a look at the new polish collection from one of my favorite brands, BB Couture for Nails.  25% of sales from this collection will be donated to the Salvation Army in their efforts to help the women and children of Haiti.

Here are the bottle pics provided by the gracious Kim, owner of Overall Beauty:

L-R with descriptions:

  • Bassin’s Blue – experience subtle turquoise pools linked by spectacular waterfalls
  • Cape Haitian – mornings bring a mysterious pale violet haze over the mountains
  • Paradise – savor the natural beauty of Haiti along the endless sandy beige beaches
  • Kyona Beach – gaze up at the cloudless baby blue sky while sunning on the beach
  • Labadie Beach – delight in the delicate pink hues of the setting sun
  • Tortuga Island – explore the exotic lush green island foliage

You can order the set here.  This page has swatches of most of the colors too.

If you are unsure about the reliability of Overall Beauty, I give you my personal assurance that the site is totally legit and the customer service is awesome!  All my orders are shipped within a few days.  All email inquiries or questions are answered promptly – most of the time within the same day!  They also ship internationally.  Feel free to email Kim, the owner, for questions that you may have.

While you’re at it, go ahead and order some of the other shades of BB Couture – they are fantastic!  Some of the most unique shades in my collection are from this brand.  To name a few of my favorites: Green Goblin, Balboa Beach Bunny, and Moon Over Manhattan.  They have some of the best green polishes out there, too – such a fantastic selection!  Check them out!  They have a pretty new line of polishes for men too.  Very cool and interesting. :)

I will be sure to post swatches of my BB Couture nail polishes in the future – I’ve got to find my camera first.

Aid for Haiti

A break from cosmetics and beauty-related posts for today.

A tragic start for 2010 – Haiti was hit by a magnitude 7.0 earthquake Tuesday.  This small country holds the distinction of being the first independent nation in Latin America as well as the first independent nation in the world led by blacks.  Ironically, it is also the poorest country in the Americas, with more than 80% of its people living in poverty.

The Presidential Palace of Haiti after the earthquake.

If you Google Haiti (Haiti aid, help, donate, etc), you will get no less than 50 million results.  What’s disturbing is that with the urgency of those in need comes opportunistic knuckleheads that are putting up bogus websites and donation portals.  How could these people even think of profiting for themselves or even spreading a virus at a time like this?!?!   Though there are still genuinely kind-hearted people out there who just really want to help, it won’t hurt to make sure your donation goes to legitimate and credible organizations.

Beware of SCAMS!  Find out how you could help after the jump.   Hurry, as your help in these first days (after the tragedy) is critical for a lot of people’s survival.  They need it NOW. Read more of this post
