Essie Summer 2010 Collection

Strangely enough, this collection doesn’t have a name.  Oh well.  I’m excited for yet another Essie green!  I love green polishes with a passion and even without seeing swatches I know that I’m going to be all over this green.  Have a look:

Essie Summer 2010 Collection

What really draw me in this collection is that shoe.  I would never in a million years think that these seemingly unrelated colors could work together but they actually look pretty nice on that shoe!  So I’ve got my hopes up.

Here are some bottle pics and color descriptions:

Essie Miss Matched

Miss Matched – Sweet, Sheer, Ready For Anything Pink

Essie Haute As Hello

Haute As Hello – Racy, Scorching Coral

Essie Knockout Pout

Knockout Pout – Hot Supercharged Pink

Essie Vermillionaire

Vermillionaire – Heart Pounding Red Orange

Essie Demure Vixen

Demure Vixen – Iridescent Cocoa Mauve

Essie Pretty Edgy

Pretty Edgy – Vivid Palmetto Green

Saved the best for last – Pretty Edgy is going to be mine for sure!

And my usual round up for up and coming collections:

Sure buys: Pretty Edgy

Not-so-sure buys, need to see more swatches: Miss Matched,

My-will-buy-at-the-right-price-even-if -I-have-a-million-dupes: Knockout Pout, Vermillionaire

Total Pass for me not unless swatches look miles away from promo pics: Demure Vixen (I totally do not understand why they keep making these frosts – I think they do not look flattering on anyone), Haute As Hello  (peachy corals seldom work on my skin tone)

Not-so-sure buys, need to see more swatches:Dem

MAC Alice + Olivia Collection

I’m back!  Well, sort of.  I just actually settled down in one place and still trying to get back in the groove of things.  Hopefully I’ll be able to pick up on posting soon since I also bought a new camera!  Yay!  I finally got tired of looking for my old one.  Sigh.

Anyway, I just had to share news about this latest MAC collaboration.  As with a lot of team ups they have done in the past, MAC excites us with a whole collection of vivid and fun colors when they partnered with the relatively-young women’s clothing brand, Alice + Olivia.

Dazzleglass Creme

  • Sparklicious Creamy pale pinky white with soft multi-dimensional pearlized pigments (Limited Edition)
  • If it’s Pink… Hot pink with soft multi-dimensional pearlized pigments (Limited Edition)
  • I.Want.Candy. Hot yellow with soft multi-dimensional pearlized pigments (Limited Edition)

Pigment

  • Later. Black with transforming purple pearlized pigments
  • If It Sparkles… White with transforming pink pearlized pigments
  • Partylicious Turquoise with silver pearlized pigments

Nail Lacquer

  • Morning.After. Creamy turquoise (Cream)
  • So Rich So Pretty Bright purple with pearlized pigments (Frost)
  • Military Black matte with silver suede pearl (Matte with Pearl)

If you’ve been reading this blog for quite a while, you would know that all I care about any new MAC collection are the nail polishes.  I was gaga over MAC a while back but thankfully (for my wallet) got “rehabilitated”.

Back to the polishes – well, Morning. After since likes a shoo-in for “must buy” for me.  I have to see swatches of So Rich So Pretty before passing judgment, as typically frost finishes spell disaster.  Military is yet another black matte (ho-hum), and yet I am intrigued with the so-called ‘pearl’ finish described here – hope it’s unique enough out of all the matte incarnations out there.

Oh, unfortunately for Manila-based gals, this seems to be a limited release.  In Asia, only Japan and Korea are going to get it.  So it would be best to just get them in etailers that ship internationally or have some of your friends get them for you.  This collection will be out July 8.

I’m Excited! Essie Resort Collection Summer 2010

Stop the presses!  Looks like Essie has another incredible collection coming out!  Behold, the Essie Resort Collection!

Straight from Essie:

I wanted to create colors that would reflect a passion for all-things paradise,” says Essie Weingarten, founder and president of Essie Cosmetics, Ltd. “Chic vacationers are known for their island-inspired style and these nail colors add the final fashionable touch to that look.

Some color descriptions:

  • Lapis Of Luxury – a dreamy ocean blue
  • Splash Of Grenadine – a playful magenta pink
  • Playa Del Platinum – an elegant and sheer sandy gray
  • Turquoise & Caicos – a flirty and pretty tropical aqua

Here’s a close up picture of Laps of Luxury, which is going to be a surefire hit:

Beautiful colors, noh?  I’m definitely going to get all.  I’ve learned it the hard way with Essie’s LE collections – should never ever think twice before buying them lest they’re gone in seconds!  Besides, I am a certified beach bum so this collection’s inspiration is very close to my heart.

This is set to be released anytime soon, so watch out!

Ok on another note – it’s been a crazy crazy past couple of weeks.  I was pretty prepared about the fact that March and April are going to be  extremely busy months for me – but not THIS busy!  Ugh!  Been traveling a lot and doing quite a lot of things, so sorry for the lack of posts!
